Some call it a side hustle, others call it a passion project. For me, it’s both. In 2018, I launched a successful kickstarter campaign to produce and sell coloring books. It was an incredible experience that got me back into creativity and out of the normal day-to-day corporate design world. Playing dual roles of artist and my own client, I created something for myself that I could then share with the world. My coloring books are for sale on Etsy.
Doodle Mayhem
Hand drawn and perfectly imperfect, this entire coloring book was drawn by hand before scanned in to be digitally assembled. I started this style of doodling in high school. In college, I created a table using this style. An art teacher told me, “Janae, this could be your signature style some day.” He was right. Thanks, for that, professor.
